The Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan could not make much of a difference with the bat yesterday. England won the second t20 match of the series and now things are leveled between the two sides. England played well in the second game at Cardiff. The Indian team struggled with the bat. They were batting first on a green top wicket and the English bowlers did a pretty good job in restricting India under 150 runs. There was Indian skipper Kohli with a good decent total. Rest there was not much to talk about in terms of batting. In the chase England did well. They did not panic. They had a plan and they executed it well. Alex Hales who had a horrible game in the first encounter looked really good yesterday. He scored a fifty for the England side and remained at the crease till the end to take his side home.

The run out of Shikhar Dhawan in the game was one of the funniest and strange as well. We hardly see such a run out in international cricket. Dhawan tapped the ball on the off side. There was an easy single available as well. The fielder who was England skipper Eoin Morgan was standing at the edge of the inner circle. So a single was not that tough to make. Dhawan tapped the ball on the off side and started running. Now when he was in the middle of the run he fumbled as it seems. Dhawan was not running convincingly and when he reached near the bowling crease the bat was not in his hands at all. It was falling down towards the pitch. Now in the meantime Morgan had picked up the ball and threw it towards the stumps at the bowling end where Roy was present to gather it.

The ball came in, Roy grasped it and hit the stumps down. The third umpire was called into action. The action replay showed that Dhawan was in the air making a leap to reach inside the crease when the ball dislodged the bails. His bat was falling down and was not into the hands of the Indian batter. He was out here and there was no doubt about it. The umpire did not take much time and a couple of replays made it clear that Dhawan was out. This was a good start for the England side. They needed a wicket at the start and they got one though it was under some funny circumstances but then again a wicket is a wicket for the bowling side no matter how it comes. England played well but it was not a convincing win for them. They need a convincing win against the Indians which will enhance their chances in the series.
