It has always been said that Pakistan is a blessed land when it comes to cricket talent. All the great players of the game have always been seen praising the Pakistani nation and their love for the game of cricket. This love turn into passion and as a result we see a lot of cricketers coming out from Pakistan. Rohail Nazir is one of them and this 16 year old is making the headlines these days. Rohail is playing the Quaid E Azam Trophy 2018 at the age of 16. He is one of the youngest players to have played the most prestigious cricket event in Pakistan. But this is not it, this 16 year old kid smacked 130 runs against a powerful HBL side in his very first game in the event. This is what makes Rohail special. There are not many players who have done this. Rohail is the first one to have become the youngest batsman to have scored a maiden hundred in the first game of first class cricket. This is a huge moment for him and he deserves all the applause for sure.

Rohail is playing for the Islamabad region in the event. He went out to bat and had to face a strong bowling line up of the HBL team. Most of the HBL bowlers are test cricketers for Pakistan and hence they got a lot of experience of bowling as well. Umar Gul was operating with the new ball which clearly shows the quality of the HBL bowing. But then again all the credit goes to Rohail for not coming into pressure. For a boy age 16 facing the likes of Umar Gul and other test cricketers is not an easy job. Only in writing it can be made to look easy but inside the ground it must have been a nerve jangling experience for the young kid. But Rohail surely showed no signs of pressure. He was playing his shots with full freedom and authority. His first two boundaries came on the leg side and that too against Umar Gul.

Umar Gul deviated towards the leg side twice against Rohail and both times Rohail easily managed the ball fine on the leg side. These two beautifully played leg side glances earned the kid with first two boundaries. This was followed by an off side cover drive and this was a pure text book shot. The front foot was right to the line of the ball. The bat covered the ball properly and the middle of the bat was shown to the ball. The drive was hit in the gap and the ball raced away towards the fence. Not a single fielder moved because the ball was hit with so much perfection. Rohail is one of those players who will certainly be under the radar in this season. He has shown his talent and temperament in the very first game that he has played at the highest domestic cricket level in Pakistan.
