کرکٹ کی تاریخ کے چند انوکھے لمحات جب بولر کی گیند سے بلے باز کا بیٹ ہی ٹوٹ گیا۔ویڈیو دیکھیں

The modern bats in world of cricket is something which no one talked about for years. But then when the sizes of the cricket bats went too far the ICC had to take the notice of it and now the cricket governing committee has made specific rules about the sizes of bats. There is no doubt that in the past we have seen bats which were humongous and even their outside edges used to take the ball over the fence for sixes. The biggest bat belonged to the six machine in world cricket Chris Gayle. David Warner used to have a big bat for batting in all three formats of the game. Now there is an interesting point here regarding the size of a cricket bat. No matter how big a cricket bat is still it has that one vulnerable spot. That top portion of the bat where the handle joins the thick wooden part which is also known as the splice of a cricket bat. That is a weak spot on a cricket bat.

Most of the time when a ball hits the splice area with good pace it breaks it out. During cricket matches there are a lot of incidents when during batting a batsman had to see his bat being broken. Here we see some of the famous incidents in cricket where the batsmen lost their bats. The first one is from Ashes where Harris broke the bat of his English counterpart. The slow motion replay of this ball clearly tells us that the ball hit the splice part and after that the bat broke into two pieces. It was that sticker which was holding the two pieces together. This incident was so shocking that even Harris could not believe that he broke the bat and he was seen standing and starring at the batsman and his broken bat after delivering this ball. It seems Harris did not see the speed with which he bowled this ball to the Englishman.

Then we have Luke Wright who hits a boundary but loses his bat as well. This incident happened in the NatWest T20 Blast. Wright was presented with a length ball and he smacked it over the covers. Now the ball hit the toe end of the bat and that is another weak spot on a cricket bat. It is not that much weak as compared to the splice but still it is weak. The ball went over the infield and raced away towards the fence. Wright had his bat broken into two pieces and the bowler hardly believed at the shot. The bat was broken and yet the shot managed to take the ball towards the fence. This compilation will definitely make cricket fans entertain. There are a lot of scenes of cricket bats getting a lot of hammering in here and the bowlers winning battles when it comes to breaking the bats.
