Amit Mishra still in trouble, assaulted woman speaks

Amit Mishra

Not out of trouble yet Mr.Mishra

Just a day after news broke about the assault laid by Indian leg spinner on a women in Bangalore, the victim has given her thoughts on the Indian international’s situation. In the last few days, the rumors of the case being withdrawn have flown all across the media.
Mishra’s lady friend, the victim, who is a film producer has just confirmed that she has not and wont take her case back. The lady has alleged that as a result of the horrible assault on her by Mishra, she wont rest until Mishra is punished. The incident took place in a hotel room in Bangalore on September 25 last month. There were several witnesses including the hotel staff, who also confirmed the incident.

While speaking to the Hindu times, the victim spoke:

“I won’t withdraw the complaint against Amit (Mishra). I am hurt physically, mentally and emotionally by the cricketer. I want Amit to come in front of the police and talk to me”

Mishra, who was brought into the Indian starting 11 after Ravi Ashwin picked up an injury in the first ODI, featured in the 4th ODI win against South Africa, one day after the news of the assault first broke out. The Indian leg spinner is also expected to start for the hosts in the final game on Sunday. Although, it is believed that Ashwin would be fit and sound to be India’s first choice spinner for the whole of the Test series, Mishra would still get the nod over veteran Harbhajan Singh, who has featured in every ODI game of the series, bar the first one. After the decider on Sunday, Mishra is expected to travel to Bangalore to settle the whole incident right before the Test series kicks off on November 5 in Mohali.
