What made Misbah special and Number 1 test Captain?

Misbah Ul Haq the Pakistan test captain has been ranked as the best test captain by The Telegraph. The Telegraph is a UK based newspaper and is seen upon as a well reputed news agency. The story of Misbah Ul Haq is like a monument for all the strugglers.

Misbah started his journey in the lands of international cricket back in 2001 when he played his first test match and later in the very next year he opened his ODI account. Since then he was travelling on and off with the Pakistan team.

In the winter of 2010 Pakistan cricket team made a tour to England that not even went utterly disappointing relating to the team performance but also three of the Pakistani players were caught for their involvement in spot fixing including the Pakistan captain Salman Butt.

These allegations, involvement and later punishment to these three players took Pakistan cricket by storm and one of the favorite team in the world was on the verge of falling into a pit of darkness and disasters.

PCB then made Misbah Ul Haq the test captain for Pakistan. Misbah though accepted the challenge but he knew he first has to save this team from further humiliation and then to think of any further achievement.

Misbah was the hero after the great Imran Khan who got a team which was demoralized and down and yet the captain gave all of them new soul. Misbah himself rose to some new heights with his personal performances and let himself be the light his team were looking for in the darkness.

Pakistan under his captaincy beat Australia in a test series. Pakistan whitewashed England in a test series. They won a test series again Srilanka in Srilanka. Pakistan became the first Asian team to win an ODI series in South Africa.

Misbah himself was one of the leading run scorer among the middle order from Pakistan. He struggled the most. He was the persona which his team looked upon and he himself knew his shinning will give the light. If not then his team will get lost again.

Out of 39 test he played as the commander in charge, Pakistan won 18, lost 11 and drew 10 this making the King Misbah. He is now the most successful test captain in Pakistan replacing the likes of Imran Khan and Javed Miandad.

Misbah groomed the new talent. He was always like the fatherly figure for all the young players. The seniors respected him a lot and he had all the support from the management and team to pull out some amazing performances from a team once thought was finished by all means.
