India all out for 353, Ashwin and Saha score tons, 3rd test

Team India is all out for 353 runs in their first innings against West Indies at St.Lucia. There was a great fight back seen from the bats of R Ashwin and WP Saha, who both hit hundreds and made an Indian record to their names.

There was a stage when the Indian was 4 down under 100 runs inside the first two sessions. Then half of the side vanished for just 126 runs on the board. Joseph, Chase, and Gabriel toppled the Indian batting with some really decent bowling.

The wicket had some lively grass and that the West Indian seamers put that to their advantage. At that point, it looked as if team Indian will fall for a low total. But Ashwin and Saha started putting the initial steps of a great fight back.

The calmness and composure which these two players showed today were exemplary. They remained focused, despite West Indian bowlers giving them a really tough time on a good bowling pitch. The short stuff was the hardest to challenge.

But Ashwin (118) and Saha (104) did not throw away anything. They both played over 200 balls each and kept their ends save. They rotated the strike beautifully and the best part was their communication. The two kept talking to each other all the time. Now Indian bowlers have something on board to attack the hosts.
