Indian skipper Virat Kohli keeps on doing his thing; scoring piles of runs. The Indian captain, in the 3rd test against Sri Lanka, scored yet another double-century at his home ground Feroz Shah Kotla.
With his record double hundred, Kohli, broke even more records and the ease with which he got there proves how over-qualified he is for the Sri Lanka team.
He earned himself a place on the list of fastest double centuries by Indian cricketers in Test matches. Captain Kohli got to the landmark in just 238 balls. This earned him the 7th spot in the list of fastest double centuries in Indian Test history, only behind MS Dhoni and Virender Sehwag.
Sehwag tops the charts
It’s not surprising that Virender Sehwag is topping this elite list of players with fastest double hundred, infact he actaully owns the list. Sehwag appears on this list a staggering six times and the five fastest double tons in Indian cricket are all registered to his name.
Next up in the list is MS Dhoni, for his iconic Chennai double hundred, which is placed sixth on the list – off 231 balls.
Taking the seventh, eighth, and ninth spots is the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. At 7th is his double ton today, while the eighth one is his masterclass at Hyderabad against Bangladesh. His Nagpur innings ranks ninth in the chart and is followed by yet another Sehwag knock at the 10th position.
