Wahab Riaz has done it once again. First it was against Australia and now it is England that came under his wrath. The Pakistani fast bowler was awarded with the man of the match award for his epical spell against England in the first innings of the Dubai test.
Wahab bowled 9 overs in that spell of sheer fast bowling and his average speed in that spell was 90 mph. He bowled 5 maidens and conceded 15 runs in those 9 overs. This spell from him changed the whole context of the test match.
Pakistan won the second test match of the series and now with one test remaining they cannot be beaten in the series. Wahab played a special role in this win. His spell in the first over demolished the England’s middle order including the wickets of Root, Stokes and Buttler.
Because of his spell Pakistan wrapped up things pretty quickly and took a solid lead of 138 runs. Wahab at the presentation party said that this spell as special as the one he bowled against Australia in Adelaide in the world cup 2015 quarterfinals.
Wahab thanked his team mates and management who always pursued him to go beyond new horizons. He said that the change in his attitude, speed and bowling techniques is majorly because of his colleagues and team management.
Waqar in particular was the main source behind him. The head coach was unhappy with his bowling approach in the first test and asked to come back stronger. The bowler listened to his coach and made the difference between the two sides in the second game.
