Dubai: Pakistan’s recent series win against England have given a lot of boost to not only the confidence of the players but also elevated their ranks in the ICC test rankings as well.
In the latest ICC test rankings a lot of shuffling has been observed when it comes to Pakistani players. There are a few who remained at the same positions. Pakistan team has climbed up to number 2 spot after 9 years.
Captain Misbah Ul Haq is still at number 10. Leg spinner Yasir Shah is sitting at number 2 spot. A big climb for Muhammad Hafeez whose recent scores against England has earned him 24th spot. This is the best test ranking Hafeez has ever achieved in his career.
In the batting line, Australian captain Smith is now at the top and AB De Villiers is at second position. Joe Root has been demoted to number 3 after his mixed performances with the bat against Pakistan.
In the bowling Dale Steyn and Yasir Shah are still unmoved at number 1 and 2. English pace bowler James Anderson is at number 3.
As for the teams South Africa is still at the top with Pakistan at number 2 and Australia at number 3. Australia might replace Pakistan after their recent test series against New Zealand.
