First thing first, Pakistan should have never taken the game to super over. There was no way they could have lost or tied the match right at the end of their chase. They were in a strong position in the final over after Tanvir hit a blistering six over Woakes head.
Yet Pakistan was unable to make 3 runs on the last 4 balls. In the super over Morgan didn’t go towards his front line bowling attack. He threw the ball to Jordan who bowled one of the best super overs in the history of T20 cricket.
Shahid Afridi and Umer Akmal came in to bat in the super over that raised a few eye brows as people were expecting Malik to make his way again. But there were some change in the plans.
Jordan completely jammed up Afridi and Akmal. The first ball went right between the legs of Afridi and second one hit him on his pads and the batting pair took a leg bye. Umer Akmal faced a low full toss which he hit in the leg side to take the second single on the over.
The fourth ball was again up their right towards the pads of Afridi and once again he missed it completely and took another leg bye. The last two balls were faced by Akmal. The first one was a brilliant Yorker right up there that was almost unplayable.
The last ball was another low full toss and Akmal tried to maneuver it with a cheeky leg glance but was beaten by the pace and the ball shattered his stumps behind him. England were given a total of 4 to chase.
