Chittagong Vikings captain Tamim needs to learn a lot of things and one important thing is that you don’t take out your premium bowler when batsman like Afridi has just come to the crease. Amir was the only danger for Afridi which he later proved by taking out his off stump.
Afridi faced one ball from Amir in his first spell. After that the regular bowlers came in and bowl against him and expecting them to stop Afridi or take him out was not even close to being a possibility today.
The wicket was flat and Afridi unleashed himself. For Vikings Taskin helped his cause by dropping him two times of Shafiul. The poor bowler was later belted for a monster over the leg side.
Afridi made 62 runs today in his maiden game this year in BPL. He faced 41 balls and hit 5 fours and 4 huge sixes.
There was no idea among the Vikings where to bowl at him. they tried short balls and Afridi pulled them into the stands on the leg side.
They tried fuller lengths ball and Afridi slammed them over the heads of the bowlers so options were not much for the Vikings bowlers. Afridi on the other hand was cool and calm and hitting everything coming his way.
He didn’t care much about the wickets that fell around him continuously. All he wanted was runs and he got plenty of them. It was Muhammad Amir who bowled him right at the end of the first innings but by that time Afridi had done his job.
