Captain, Coach and Player!

Former England skipper and opening batsman Micheal Vaughan has been appointed both captain and coach of the Capricorn Commanders in the Master Champions League tournament, which would be contested in the UAE starting from January 28 2016. Vaughan’s signature was bagged in the pre auction bid for the legends, and was also a member of the strategy making team of the Sohail Khan owned franchise. Moreover, Vaughan will also serve as the team director of the Capricorn Commanders.

Usman Afzaal, also a former England player, will assist Vaughan in the coaching roles. The Master Champions League will be played from January 28 to February 13 at venues in UAE and Sharjah. The Capricorn Commanders will play 5 other teams in the tournament, which will feature several high profile veterans and legends from the past.

Like all other squads, the Commanders’ squad is filled with some superstar names including the likes of two time World Champion Andrew Symonds, Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzak, former England captain Paul Collingwood, Sri Lanka’s Chamara Silva and Protean Ashwell Prince.
