Bangladesh premium fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will not take part in the inaugural edition of the Pakistan upper League (PSL). Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has made this move after Mustafizur got injured against Zimbabwe yesterday.
Another blow for PSL, Mustafizur was set to play for Lahore Qalanders in the first edition of PSL but now it seems the team will have to enter the event without him. Mustafizur got injured while playing in the second T20 match of the series against Zimbabwe on Sunday.
BCB chairman, Akram Khan has said that keeping in mind his injury, the board cannot allow Mustafuzur to play PSL. Mustafizur is injured and hence there will not be any risk taken here, hence BCB has asked him to step back from the PSL.
Mustafizur will be compensated for his loss for not playing PSL. BCB head Nazmul Hasan also agrees with this decision. Mustafizur was one of the major picks for LahoreQalanadars.
However, the interesting point is that Akram said that Mustafizur will be allowed to take part in IPL. IPL is a major event and Mustafizur and other Bangladeshi players will learn a lot from those players while playing with them in IPL.
He also said that if Mustafizur is fit enough to join IPL then BCB has no reservations about his decision. Mustafizur is yet to make a comment on this decision. Lahore Qalandars were pretty excited to enroll him in for the first edition of PSL. Mustafizur himself was quite excited, but now his own cricket board has asked him to step back from the event. Mustafizur out for sure.
