BCCI has announced 15-member squad for the upcoming Asia cup and World T20. Veterans Yuvraj Sigh and Harbhajan Singh, who also were named in the T20 squad for the Australian tour have retained their places. The surprise pick is Pawan Negi in the team who has performed well with his all-round abilities in the India’s domestic cricketing circuits.
Jasprit Bhumrah and Hardik Pandya have also been selected for the squad as both the young guns were impressive with their cricketing abilities in the recent T20 series against Australia.
Sandeep Patil, the chairman of the selection committee said that this is the best squad available and hoped that India does well in both the tournaments. Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were not included in the side along with Manish Panday.
Panday hit a match-winning ton against Australia in the final ODI as Ajinkya Rahane was absent from the side due to injury. Panday replaced him in the last game and availed the opportunity perfectly. But the selectors went for the experience Rahane for the two upcoming mega events.
