Adil Rashid, the worst test debutant for England

Abu Dhabi: Adil Rashid becomes the worst debutant in the history of cricket. He conceded 163 runs in the first innings against Pakistan without taking a wicket.

An unwanted record for Adil Rashid, as the bowler was hit for 163 runs in his first test innings. Adil is making his test debut in Abu Dhabi in the first test match of the series against Pakistan. The match is still on but it might have ended prematurely for Adil in the first innings.

The leg spinner bowled 34 overs and was taken for 163 runs by the Pakistan batsmen. These are the worst test figures by any bowler making his debut. Adil surely writes a history for England.

Before Adil, D Melcom had the worst test figures for England. He made his debut against Australia in 1989. Melcom conceded 166 runs in one innings but he was lucky enough to name a wicket to himself.

Melcom in his test career played 40 test and took 128 test scalps. Adil should now hope to have a good test career.
