Herath’s six wickets helps Srilanka enforce follow-on

Galle: Rangana Herath spins West Indies taking out six wickets as Srilanka enforces follow-on. West Indies were all out for 251 chasing down 484 in the first innings of the first test match.

Herath strikes for Srilanka picking up 6 wickets in the first innings of the match against touring West Indies. The tourists were bowled out for 251 on the third day just after the tea break.

West Indian lower order resisted for a small period as 46 runs were added between K Roach and J Taylor for the eighth wicket partnership. Later Roach added 34 with Bishoo but Herath struck back again keeping the West Indian 34 runs short.

The West Indian batting line looked a lot lame. Each of the top batsmen went into double figure but then threw his wicket away. Darren Bravo remained the top scorer with 50.

The highest partnership for West Indies was between Roach and Taylor (46) for the eighth wicket. Herath remained the pick of the Srilankan bowlers with 6 for 68.West Indies trail by 221 runs with 10 wickets remaining with plenty of time to play.
