Seniors will have to win matches now, Sarfraz Ahmed

After a long time, Sarfraz Ahmed has finally come out of the shadows regarding talking about the Pakistan team. Sarfraz is one of those characters who mostly does not give media anything to put spices on. But today he gave something for them as well.

In his latest media talk, Sarfraz Ahmed talked about all the burning issues of the Pakistan cricket. He started with the spot-fixing case saying that it is a bitter blow and there is no denial in it. Sarfraz was especially sad towards Sharjeel Khan’s inclusion in the case.

He was cementing his place in the national side, and we needed a player like him, Sarfraz Ahmed said. Sharjeel Khan is one of those players whom you want on your side because of the hitting powers he possesses. His name in the list of alleged players was a hard blow for sure.

He is not a part of the side anymore, so the youngsters and other swill have to fill the void. Sarfraz then discussed the Azhar Ali issue. The former ODI skipper has been left out of the West Indies tour. Sarfraz said that Azhar Ali had not been discarded of the ODI format.

This is a wrong perception and needs to be removed from the minds of the fans. Azhar Ali is still a part of the Pakistan cricket. If he has been discarded or taken out then what was he doing in the training camp for the West Indies tour, Sarfraz put a pretty rational question here.

It is all about giving the youngsters a chance. Those who have done well in the domestic circles with the bat are given a chance to prove their worth. After this came the silent warning which many media people and fans deciphered within few minutes.

The fate of Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir are now in their own hands. Sarfraz said that it is about time that these two bowlers become a match winner for Pakistan. Sarfraz said that he and the management both have talked to Wahab and Amir. Both the pacers have been told that they now have enough games under the belt and need to elevate their game which he was sure that they would.
