In the one-sided encounter, Dhaka Dynamites defeated the in-form Sylhet Sixers by 8 wickets, during the on-going edition of the Bangladesh Premier League.
After winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, Dhaka’s bowlers did exceptionally well as they restricted Sixers for just 101 runs off their 20 allocated overs. Dhaka kept chirping away with the wickets, while Shahid Afridi was their pick of the bowlers.
Afridi, playing his first game of the season, made an impact straightaway as he picked up a wicket in his very first over. Then, while bowling his third over, he picked up another and then managed to take two more in his 4th over. His bowling figures were an impressive 4-0-12-4.
After Sixers’ innings finished, Dhaka started their chase and opened with Shahid Afridi and Evin Lewis. Afridi, who was in confidence after his bowling performance, did well in the batting as well and scored 37 off just 17 balls, with the help of 5 sixes.
Dhaka, eventually managed to chase the target inside 8 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. Afridi was then named man of the match for his allround performance.
