Following a unanimous decision to have all abandoned matches replayed, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2016) will get a fresh start when the seven franchises begin taking center stage from Tuesday (November 8).
The initial four matches of BPL 2016 were washed out in light of non-occasional showers, brought about by a dejection in the Bay of Bengal, compelling the BPL Governing Council (GC) to reschedule the competition. The GC was anticipating the establishments’ endorsement to replay the matches that were relinquished on Friday (November 4) and Saturday (November 5), which they have now gotten.
In the emergency meeting that was called on Friday by the GC, the tournament opening teams Comilla Victorians and Rajshahi Kings remained undecided on replaying their match. In any case, a positive from the situation was that all franchises accepted the replay of all games, with minor changes to the calendar.
As per ESPNCricinfo Comilla will go head to head against Rajshahi on November 30 while Rangpur Riders and Khulna Titans, alternate groups whose match was washed out on the opening day, will play on November 10. Chittagong Vikings versus Barisal Bulls and Comilla Victorians versus Dhaka Dynamites were the two recreations washed out on November 5 and those matches will now occur on November 30.
The Barisal Bulls versus Khulna Titans match and Rangpur Riders versus Rajshahi Kings were the two matches that should have been played on November 8. The Bulls versus Titans amusement has been rescheduled to November 20 and will be played in Chittagong while Rangpur and Rajshahi will go up against each other on November 28 in Dhaka.
Comilla, the guarding champions, will play the principal coordinate against Chittagong on the rescheduled opening day, while Bulls will go up against Dynamites in the second match of the day.
