Fawad Ahmed, who was once a strong test contender for Australia is now playing club cricket these days, yet the spinner is aiming high and hoping to make a great come back.
Australian winter this year gave Fawad Ahmed a fresh start and high hopes, as the spinner was a part of the Australian squad for the tour to West Indies and later to England.
In the Ashes, he almost was certain to get a test cap but unfortunately that didn’t happen. Since then it has been quite a step down for Fawad. The spinner also lost his place in his state side, Victoria.
Due to the cancellation of the Bangladesh tour, the Australian players went back to the state squads. The inclusion of Glenn Maxwell and Jon Holland as front line spinners for Victoria puts Fawad out of the context.
Fawad is currently playing with the Melbourne University and his bowling is by far the best. Fawad did not let himself down and his dreams are still not shattered.
The spinner is still hopeful to make a comeback to his state side first, Victoria. He is not thinking much about being a part of the Australian dressing room again. His focus is to first get back into Victoria’s playing eleven.
