Virat Kohli, the Indian test skipper wants the next edition of the Indian Premier League to end as early as possible. The reason behind this wish is to get as much as time possible to prepare for the overseas tours next year.
The Indian team has been performing incredibly well at home in the last two years. The Test team is currently at the top of the ICC rankings. And the whole team including Virat Kohli would like to maintain this winning momentum when they travel overseas.
Kohli and his boys are currently busy playing a three-match Test series against the Sri Lanka. The Indian captain in a meeting with BCCI over the pay rise, also had a talk regarding the overseas tours in 2018, especially the tour to England, which is scheduled to start after the completion of IPL 2018.
Kohli wants time to prepare
Kohli is passionate about his cricket and that’s why wants his boys to get sufficient amount of preparation time, and that’s is the reason he wants the coming edition of the IPL to end as sooner as possible.
India, currently the No. 1 Test side, will lock horns with English team from July next year in a tour comprising of 3 T20s, 3 ODIs and 5 Test matches. As per reports, the captain wants his team to get atleast two weeks in order to prepare for the series.
