Kusal Perera faces four-year ban

Srilankan wicket keeper Kusal Perera is out of cricket for the next four years. Kusal’s urine sample tested in Qatar confirmed that it contained a banned substance.

Big news for international cricket, especially for the Srilankans, Kusal was a prosperous player and his ban will definitely hurt the Srilankan team and their future cricketing plans.

Srilankan Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera said that the ICC has confirmed the news that Kusal will face a four-year ban from cricket. However, the Srilankan board is making the necessary documentation make an appeal against the ban.

Hard times for Kusal

Kusal B-sample tests positive in Qatar. His urine sample was tested in the Middle East and it turned out to be containing an illegal substance. He was dropped from the Srilankan test squad for New Zealand as well.

Kusal is Srilanka’s second player who failed the dope test. Upul Tharanga faced a three-month ban during the 2011 world cup for the same reasons.
