Mukhtar Ahmed, while playing for Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) against Karachi Whites in the on-going National T20 Cup, scored his third T20 hundred and with that created many records in the Pakistan domestic history.
Ahmed with his 3rd T20 hundred became the joint-most T20 century maker in the history of Pakistan’s domestic. Mukhtar shares the spot with Ahmad Shahzad and Khurram Manzoor, who also scored a hundred in the same match while chasing. With his hundred, Mukhtar also became the first batsman to score 3 hundreds in National T20 competition.
His century today helped his team scored a huge total of 219 against Karachi Whites. Later while chasing, Karachi tried their best to chase the total and got to the 200 with the help of a quick fire hundred from Manzoor and a thrilling fifty from Haris Sohail, but they felt short and lost the match.
It should be noted that despite scoring at a higher rate in his career and averaging above 30, Mukhtar never made it to any team for Pakistan Super League. And once again next year, he isn’t the part of the league.
