Pakistan to get more spin options says Intikhab

Abu Dhabi: Pakistan cricket team manager Intikhab Alam is confident that Pakistan will have some major spin options available before the start of the second test match.

With Yasir Shah getting injured just day before the first test match and Zafar Gohar’s arrival to UAE halted due to visa issues, Pakistan ended up playing with one spinner in the first test match, Zulfiqar Babar.

Yasir was hit by a back spasm and he was ruled out of the first test. Captain Misbah was clearly annoyed with the lack of spin options in the squad and spoke about his desperation as well.

Manager Intikhab Alam spoke about the issues and said that the team is facing a few problems but they all will be sorted out before the start of the next game. He didn’t speak about the details but said that they have a few plans for the upcoming games.

This now opens up a lot of options; Saeed Ajmal might get a chance. Zafar Gohar and Bilal Asif are the other two spin options with Yasir definitely getting better. The leg spinner has been spotted in the ground practicing with the bowling coach, Mushtaq Ahmad.
