Three years ago on 27th November, a tragic incident happened that resulted in death of a young cricketer Phillip Hughes. The incident shook the cricketing world and the fans who support the game.

Phillip Hughes initially suffered a blow on his nect that caused a vertebral artery dissection that further led to a subarachnoid haemorrhage, which was the major cause of the cricketer’s death.

Today, after three years, the cricket fraternity took a moment and remembered the young cricketer from Australia with some cherishing posts on the social media.

The Hughes incident was very shocking and left the entire cricketing universe mourning. After his death, many questions were also raised on the security of players on the field and the quality of the protective gears they wear.

A productive career

Hughes, though had a short career, but it was productive one. He represented his country in 26 Tests and 25 ODIs in which he scored 1535 and 826 runs respectively. In a short career across formats, he had already 5 international hundreds to his name. The left-hander made his debut in Test series in South Africa after the retirement of legendary opener Matthew Hayden and also scored a half-century in the second innings.
