The 2016 ICC World T20 just wont stop surpising, and after today’s absolute stellar of a thriller, the tournament has gotten a kick-start the fans were craving for ever so badly. Bangladesh fought tooth and nail for this but to no avail in the end.

One would feel Bangladesh lost this game rather than India winning it. The Bengalis did every thing flawlessly, from bowling to fielding and even chasing a moderate target. But what went wrong in the end? This is where nerves have toppled over many a giants in many a world cups in the past. The Bengalis just did not have enough nerves in them to get over the line, even when 2 runs were needed off the last 3 deliveries.

Chasing 146 in a must-win game, Tamim Iqbal lend his side a massive helping hand with an opening stand of 35. Sabbir Rahman continued his scintillating form with the bat, scoring yet another swift cameo (26 off 15 deliveries, 1 six and 3 fours). Shakib Al Hasan much like in the games against Pakistan and Australia, got runs on the board and helped his side ease towards the target.

Wickets kept tumbling but Bangladesh were the front-runners for the most part of their chase, given a fairly moderate run rate. Mahmudullah and Soumya Sarkar setup a calm and composed partnership which was partnered well by Mushfiqur Rahim hitting two fours in the second last over. India were left to defend 3 in 2 deliveries, but that was when the Bengali plane crashed. Mushfique and Mahmudullah fell one after the other, thanks to two unnecessary shots to throw the game away.

India win their second game in a row, but had to work for every penny in this one. The blues are still required to defeat Australia in their remaining group game because of an inferior net-run rate.
